LivingKitchen China/CIKB: Direct contact with the growth market Asia
• LivingKitchen China/CIKB has evolved into the leading kitchen event in China
• Kitchen Space Concept Design National Award celebrates premiere
• Attractive accompanying programme with more than 50 events
• Joint German stand funded by the German government

Together with the China National Hardware Association (CNHA) and Arbeitsgemeinschaft Die Moderne Küche e.V. (AMK), Koelnmesse has successfully established the LivingKitchen China/CIKB as one of the most important industry events in China. A satellite event of the Cologne LivingKitchen, the Shanghai trade show attracts an increasing number of visitors every year. From 22 to 24 October 2017, the global kitchen industry players will again be presenting their products to the Asian trade audience at the CIKB, now renamed to LivingKitchen China/CIKB. The trade show event concept has been improved even further: This year will see the premiere of the "Kitchen Space Concept Design National Award", which is awarded within the scope of the trade show. In addition, the increasingly popular trade show format also features a central theme that is currently of great interest to the global kitchen world: "Smart Home". An accompanying programme of more than 50 events and the unusually high level of exhibitor involvement offer excellent opportunities for establishing business contacts in the growth market China.

China is an extremely exciting market for the international kitchen industry: With annual growth figures of around 20 per cent, China harbours excellent opportunities for companies when it comes to increasing their export rates. One major advantage is that the Chinese end customers consider a fitted kitchen a status symbol. In addition, labels such as "Made in Germany" or Italian design are good sales pitches in China. The LivingKitchen China/CIKB has therefore evolved into a central industry platform: It unites the various market stakeholders and makes it possible for European companies to develop the Chinese market. Over the past few years, the LivingKitchen China/CIKB has done extremely well: Between 2015 and 2016, the number of exhibitors increased by 23 per cent, and the number of visitors even by 33 per cent.

To give the brand a sharper profile, the CIKB was renamed this year: It will open its gates as LivingKitchen China/CIKB in October - at one of the world's largest and most modern exhibition grounds, the National Exhibition and Convention Centre in Shanghai. Between 22 and 24 October 2017, around 30,000 visitors will learn more about the latest trends, liaise with potential contacts and exchange ideas. "We are well on the way towards becoming the most important kitchen industry platform in China," says Arne Petersen, head of the Koelnmesse Trade Show Management Division. "To achieve this goal, we have consistently developed the event further in collaboration with AMK and the industry."

With the "Kitchen Space Concept Design National Award", a new industry design award will be celebrating its premiere this year. An expert jury of architects and designers will be presenting the award to particularly innovative industry products. This award increases the event's appeal to innovators and makes it interesting to the target group of creative interior designers, architects and designers. The presentation of the award is only one element of the special programme that accompanies the LivingKitchen China/CIKB: More than 50 events have been organised within the scope of the actual trade show - from press events to a welcome dinner and the Kitchen Industry Design Forum. The attractive accompanying programme increases the trade show's reach and also makes it easier for the various market stakeholders to network.

One highlight at the trade show hall is a special exhibition on the future topic of "Smart Home": "Digitally connected, the Internet of Things - we are illustrating what's behind these terms, which have long since become an established element of contemporary design, with a special exhibition," says Arne Petersen. In parallel to the imm cologne's "Smart Home" focus, an interactive installation will demonstrate in China which "smart solutions" are already available for use in the kitchen and the bathroom - and how the different solutions provided by the various manufacturers communicate with each other.

Companies from Germany will again have the opportunity of contributing to the German pavilion: The joint stand is funded by the German government and offers extremely attractive terms. "The German pavilion offers German companies an excellent opportunity for assessing their chances in China. There is no more affordable way to enjoy such an opportunity," says Arne Petersen. Prominently positioned in the best area of the hall, new names and established market stakeholders will show what is currently being produced under the label "Made in Germany".
