Final Report: China International Kitchen and Bathroom Expo (CIKB) 2016 took a big step forward

• Position as the leading built-in kitchen show in China confirmed once again
• Debut of German pavilion on CIKB
• Over 23,000 visitors from 26 countries came to the international kitchen fair in Shanghai
• 33 percent increase in the number of visitors

CIKB 2016, jointly organized by Koelnmesse and China National Hardware Association (CNHA), closed on Sunday, October 23 with a very good result. Over 23,000 visitors came to the professional & international kitchen fair in China this year. In comparison to the previous year, a significant increase in attendance of 33% was recorded. "CIKB 2016 was a total success. The international kitchen show received top marks both in terms of quality and quantity this year and thus further reinforced its position as the leading trade fair for the kitchen industry in China", explained Mr. Gerald Böse, President and CEO of Koelnmesse GmbH.  "We had a very positive feedback to the range of offers and the presences of the exhibitors in the exhibition hall as well to the supporting program. This shows us that CIKB has been set as an obligatory date within the industry. All in all, we are very satisfied with CIKB 2016." This statement is also confirmed by Mr. Kirk Mangels, Managing Director of AMK (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Die Moderne Küche e.V.): “In the view of AMK, CIKB 2016 was a big success and did another step in the right direction. Also the feedback of our exhibiting members was entirely positive. The number of visitors as well as the quality of the presentations have developed well. However, there is room for improvement that we will work on together with a view toward 2017.”

With the joint efforts of Koelnmesse & CNHA, and great support from AMK and LivingKitchen, CIKB created new records in terms of exhibition space, number of exhibitors and visitors. On the area of 27,000 sqm around 200 exhibitors from 11 countries and regions displayed their latest products and technologies.

The focus of the fair was set once again on the “Modern Built-In Kitchen”. But CIKB is not only the specialized fair for the kitchen industry in China. It is also the showcase for LivingKitchen, the international trade fair for kitchen furniture, kitchen appliances and accessories – held every two years in Cologne, Germany. This is reflected also in the participation of many familiar German companies, known from LivingKitchen, within the German pavilion – supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. Besides Bosch and Siemens with own big booths, well-known brands like nobilia, Nolte, zeyko, MHK, CARAT, allmilmö, Nolff, Ballerina, Hailo, Hettich, Suspa attended this German joint booth. Other top brands from Europe such as Smeg, Blum and Franke as well as from local market such as Haier, Fotile, Robam, Midea, Arda guaranteed the quality of the event.
