Monthly Outputs and Regional Distribution of Major Products of China’s Hardware Industry in Jan-May 2015
I. Domestic gas cooking appliances
According to the data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, the total outputs of China’s domestic gas cooking appliances in January-May 2015 were 14.5986 million pieces, growing 1.75% year on year. The growth rate was 0.87% lower compared with the same period of the previous year. However, negative growth of the preview month has been replaced by the positive growth of this month. The monthly absolute outputs have been increasing in a smooth and steady manner since 2015. The outputs of May were 2.8714 million pieces, with a year-on-year growth of 1.95%. The month-on-month outputs and growth rate continued to increase. Besides, the year-on-year growth has been changed from negative to positive. (Please refer to the Graphs)

As for the outputs of different regions, Eastern China has mainly contributed to the domestic gas cooking appliances outputs of China in May 2015. The outputs of Eastern China accounted for over 85% of the total outputs and were 2.29% higher year on year. The Northeastern China has realized the second largest outputs, however, with the greatest growth rate of more than 30%. Eastern China has seen a negative growth rate of 20% and its growth rate was lower than the national average level.

The national outputs of domestic gas cooking appliances in January-May 2015 were mainly contributed by Guangdong, Zhejiang, Hunan, Liaoning, Jiangsu, Hubei, Shandong, Fujian, Shanghai, Guizhou and other regions. Over 50% of the total outputs were contributed by Guangdong Province, which has an edge over other regions. Zhejiang had the second largest outputs in China which accounted for over 20% of the total outputs. Guangdong has produced 7.8305 million domestic gas cooking appliances in January-May 2015, with a year-on-year growth of 6.97%. Zhejiang has produced 2.9709 million domestic gas cooking appliances in January-May 2015, with a year-on-year growth of 9.76%; and Hunan produced 1.0603 million domestic gas cookers in January-May 2015, with a year-on-year growth of 3.13%.
Among the top ten regions with respect to the domestic gas cooking appliances outputs, Liaoning, Fujian and Shandong have seen a comparatively high year-on-year growth of over 10%, and were the regions with the fastest growth among the top ten. Jiangsu, Hubei and Shanghai have respectively seen a negative year-on-year growth of outputs (please refer to the Graphs).
The national outputs of domestic gas cooking appliances in May 2015 were mainly contributed by Guangdong, Zhejiang, Liaoning, Jiangsu, Hunan, Hubei, Shandong, Fujian, Shanghai, Shanxi and other regions. Guangdong and Zhejiang had their edges over other regions. Outputs of the aforesaid two provinces accounted for nearly 80% of the national outputs in May 2015. Outputs of the top three regions: Guangdong has produced 1.8947 million domestic gas cooking appliances with a year-on-year growth of 20.04%; Zhejiang produced 0.7559 million domestic gas cookers with a year-on-year growth of 14.56%; and Liaoning produced 0.2521 million domestic gas cooking appliances with a year-on-year growth of 30.78%.
Among the top ten regions with respect to the domestic gas cooking appliances outputs, Liaoning and Shandong have respectively seen the highest year-on-year growth rates, which were higher than 30%. Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Fujian have respectively seen a positive year-on-year growth of outputs, but Hunan, Hubei, Shanxi and Shanghai have seen a negative growth. The outputs of Hubei were greatly decreased in May, with the decrement rate of nearly 40% (please refer to the Graphs).

II. Domestic range hoods
According to the data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, the total outputs of China’s domestic range hoods in January-May 2015 were 10.2809 million pieces, growing 2.17% year on year. The growth rate was 10.51% lower compared with the same period of the previous year. The monthly outputs and growth rate of China’s domestic range hoods have been gradually increasing since 2015. The outputs of May were 2.462 million pieces, with a slight month-on-month decrease but a continuously increased growth rate. The outputs of May have seen a year-on-year growth of 10.06% (please refer to the Graphs).
As for the outputs of different regions, more than 99% of the national domestic range hood outputs came from Eastern China in May 2015. The proportion has been increased again. Besides, as the only producing region that has remained positive growth, Guangdong has realized the greatest growth rate among all regions of China and has got very obvious advantages. The proportions of Central and Western China were comparatively small. Both regions have seen negative growth. The negative growth rate of Western China was higher than 30%.
The national outputs of domestic range hoods in January-May 2015 were mainly contributed by Guangdong, Zhejiang, Shandong, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghai, Hubei and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Over 90% of the total outputs were contributed by Guangdong and Zhejiang Province, which have obvious advantages among all the regions. Outputs of the aforesaid two provinces accounted for more than 90% of the total outputs. Guangdong has produced 6.82 million domestic range hoods in January-May 2015, with a year-on-year growth of -2.1%. Zhejiang has produced 2.567 million domestic range hoods in January-May 2015, with a year-on-year growth of 13.21%.
Guangxi continued to be the region with the most outstanding growth rate, which is 45% higher year on year. It has become the region with the largest growth rate of domestic range hood outputs in China. Zhejiang, Shandong, Shanghai and Hubei also realized comparatively high output growth rates, which were higher than the industry’s average growth rate. Guangdong, Jiangsu, Sichuan and Hunan have respectively seen negative growth. The outputs of Jiangsu and Sichuan were greatly decreased in May, with the decrement rate of over 10% (please refer to the Graphs).
The national outputs of domestic range hoods in January-May 2015 were mainly contributed by Guangdong, Zhejiang, Shandong, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghai, Hubei and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Guangdong has produced 1.5559 million domestic range hoods, with a year-on-year growth of 4.28%; Zhejiang produced 0.6984 million domestic range hoods, with a year-on-year growth of 23.9%; and Shandong produced 0.1535 million domestic range hoods, with a year-on-year growth of 26.08%.
Zhejiang and Shandong, with the most outstanding performance, have seen a year-on-year output growth of over 20% and have realized the highest growth rate in May. Besides, Guangdong and Shanghai has kept the positive year-on-year output growth, which was still lower than the national average growth. Jiangsu, Sichuan, Hunan, Hubei and Guangxi have respectively seen a negative grow (please refer to the Graphs).
